This work proposes a reflection on memory, forgetting and the transformation of spaces over time. Through an artistic approach to the “Quartzic Crystal Mines of the Folgadeiro-Verdes mining field”, the proposal invites the public to imagine a place. The space of the mine, once full of unique shapes, shines and textures, was slowly replaced by an almost imperceptible emptiness, as if its existence had been erased from the collective imagination. Through this project, I seek to give form to forgetting, to question the very existence of places when they are no longer remembered. Physical presence becomes insufficient to sustain memory, true permanence, perhaps visual and conceptual, is therefore an attempt to poetically reconstruct the memory of a place and to reflect on the silent processes of transformation and disappearance that affect not only spaces, but also our perception of time and history.
